...and all its craziness!!!!
I totally fell in love with this humungous, crazy, dynamic and pulsating city! It is everything I expected of it and more!!! Seriously, I had such a fabulous and wonderful time, I'm close to having withdrawal symptoms!
And to think I only spent 4.5 days there!!! Damn!
I arrived Thursday afternoon and was fortunate to have Lani and Mati (my NYC partners in crime) pick me up at JFK. We chilled out a bit at Lani's place (really sweet by the way - on Roosevelt Island!) before heading out to Times Square (or as an unnamed friend said - Town Square LOL)
Dang, to think that all that man-made stuff - buildings, roads, lights, screens - put together can look so purdy and magical, is something else. We walked around a lot and checked out the M&M shop. Again, crazy stuff! Then had a lovely AND lively dinner at this Cuban resto - live music, nice ambiance, good food, yummy mojitos (LOL) and a cute (but short) waiter by the name of Juan Carrrrrrrlos (his real name was prob John... haha)
Oh and then, as if out of a movie, right outside our window a red sportscar was pulled over and we saw cops in civilian search the car and the passengers of the sportscar. Here is a lovely shot of the action *chuckle*
Friday morning, we started with the Staten Island Ferry, did the whole tourist shots of NYC skyline, the Statue of Libery, Brooklyn Bridge etc. We then walked around the financial district, went into Tiffany's where we pretended we were used to seeing ugly diamond earrings for a cool 30,000USD or a pearl necklace for 50,000USD. You know, nothing I couldn't handle. Saw that big bull which represents "the strength and power of the American people". Well, this is what I thought of it...
LOL
Oh and check out this pic - my favourite pic from my whole trip. It's an idea Edin my Norwegian friend stranded in Uzbekistan gave me a while back. From now on, Ill try and do a jump shot everywhere I go! And thanks to Mati for taking it too! :)
Dang, this post is becoming a bit too long for my liking. So here's the breakdown of all that I did:
I think I'm missing some details and I still need to put up more pictures, but needless to say - I HEART NEW YORK!!!
