One fantastic night...

...in Paris. And yes, that was just last night for me.

My cousin's friend had a photography exhibition in Paris and spontaneously I decided I'd go there for the night - to attend the launch and hang out with said cousin, his partner and friends.

So after 3hrs on the train, I got into Paris at 5 pm & was instantly mesmerised by the people & their fashion sense. As always Parisians are the epitome of classy & chic. And then there's the city itself with its little cafes & interesting boutiques bustling with locals & tourists.

I checked into the hotel & immediately put my game face on. Thanks to my stylists in Rome, Suva & New York I had a very island inspired outfit (my one & only Mena). Pictures to come later.

The exhibition itself was quite small with our friend showing about 25 photographs she took during her travels. They weren't what I expected but they definitely captured your attention. I wish I could show you some of her work but alas I didn't take any pics of the exhibition itself!

I liked her description of her work "Instead of capturing one snapshot of what I see...I wanted to capture a series of snapshots my eyes saw into one single photo" And what one got was a blurry yet clear & and dynamic yet still moment of movement! Very nice.

And the people who turned up to the launch were stunning & eclectic - from the shaman in the cape who looked like the bad guy in Ghostbusters (Google him) to the Samoan princess (pugi) to the statuesque model with endless legs (bitch) to the struggling screenplay writer. Seriously, these artists fascinate me with their world. I loved it.

Oh em gee & let me not get started on the food! Every time I go to Paris I always come away with an out-of-this-world encounter with their food! Last night I had the most tender melt-in-your-mouth beef stew with mushroom sauce & mashed potatoes. So simple yet so delicious. And then there's the pastries & deserts...Mon Dieu! Heavenly I tell you...

Thirteen hours later, I was back at my desk after a quick getaway. A quickie you might say. ;) pe aga iai la se kama e quickie ai..! hahaha
